Liverpool team vs Arsenal confirmed as Reds missing six stars for Community Shield

Trent Alexander-Arnold misses out on Liverpool's match-day squad as they meet Arsenal in the Community Shield.

The Reds defender was left on Merseyside when the squad flew to Austria for a pre-season training camp earlier this month and has not been risked for the game with the Gunners at Wembley this afternoon.

It means Neco Williams starts at right-back alongside Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Andy Robertson, while Alisson Becker starts in goal.

The midfield three is Fabinho, James Milner and Gini Wijnaldum with Naby Keita left in reserve on the bench alongside Curtis Jones and Marko Grujic.

The front three has a familiar look to it as Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah all start.

Youngsters Harvey Elliott and Billy Koumetio also make the bench with Liverpool without as many as six first-team stars in Jordan Henderson, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Xherdan Shaqiri, Joel Matip, Divock Origi and Alexander-Arnold.

Liverpool: Alisson; Williams, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Milner, Wijnaldum; Salah, Mane, Firmino.

Subs: Adrian, Kieta, Grujic, Jones, Minamino, Tsimikas, Brewster, Elliott, Koumetio.
