Liverpool team to face Sheffield United as Jurgen Klopp gets major fitness boost

Jurgen Klopp has made 11 changes to his Liverpool side that travels to Sheffield United on Saturday lunchtime, with Sadio Mane shaking off a dead leg to prove his fitness.

The Senegal star limped off in the second half of last week's 2-1 win at Chelsea but trained this week and is fit to start at Bramall Lane.

Reds boss Klopp made 11 changes to his side in midweek as a host of youngsters beat MK Dons 2-0 in the third round of the Carabao Cup and has reverted to the same team that triumphed at Stamford Bridge six days ago.

Adrian returns in goal behind a back four of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson.

Fabiho, Gini Wijnaldum and captain Jordan Henderson make up the midfield three with Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah up top.

There is no place on the substitutes' bench for Naby Keita after his return from a five-month absence in a Liverpool team on Wednesday night.

Victory for the Premier League leaders this afternoon will extend their advantage at the top to eight points ahead of Manchester City's trip to Everton this evening.

Liverpool: Adrian; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum; Salah, Mane, Firmino.

Subs: Kelleher, Lovren, Milner, Gomez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lallana, Origi.
