Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will kick off the pre-season in Liverpool's midfield in the opening friendly at Tranmere Rovers.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, who featured for only 19 minutes for the first team last season, joins James Milner and Adam Lallana in the first-half team at Prenton Park.
As expected, Jurgen Klopp will field two complete separate teams in each half, with Simon Mignolet – who only returned to Melwood this morning – starting in goal.

Rhian Brewster and 18-year-old left-back Yasser Larouci will be given an opportunity during the opening 45 minutes.
While the second-half team sees Divock Origi, who signed a new contract yesterday, alongside FA Youth Cup-winning attacking duo Paul Glatzel and Bobby Duncan in attack.
Ki-Jana Hoever, Adam Lewis and goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros also feature after the break.
