Liverpool team news for Manchester City match as Diogo Jota makes starting line up

Roberto Firmino has been recalled to the Liverpool starting line-up for the clash at Manchester City.

Firmino will take his place in a side that also includes Diogo Jota as part of a bold selection from Jurgen Klopp for the Premier League showdown at the Etihad on Sunday afternoon.

Liverpool are expected to line up in a 4-2-3-1 formation with Firmino playing behind central striker Mohamed Salah.

Jota, who has kept his place after netting a hat-trick at Atalanta on Tuesday in the Champions League, is likely to be on the right, with Sadio Mane on the left.

Gini Wijnaldum and captain Jordan Henderson will form the two in central midfield.

In defence, Joel Matip returns from injury to partner Joe Gomez for the first time as a starting duo in the centre of the backline.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson are the full-backs, with Alisson Becker in goal.

Xherdan Shaqiri is among a bench that also includes Naby Keita and Nathaniel Phillips.
