Liverpool team news confirmed as Jurgen Klopp makes unexpected change for Watford

Dejan Lovren makes his first Premier League start since December as Liverpool travel to Watford on Saturday evening.

The Croatian centre-back has struggled to regain his place due to the excellent form of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, but he returns to the side alongside the £75million Dutchman at Vicarage Road.

Lovren's last game in the top flight came during the 3-0 win at Bournemouth on December 7 before an injury opened the door for Gomez to shine in his absence.

Gomez, however, misses out with what has been described as a "minor fitness concern" while Naby Keita is also absent through injury.

That means Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain comes back into the side in place of Keita with Curtis Jones and Ki-Jana Hoever drafted into the bench with James Milner, Xherdan Shaqiri and Jordan Henderson all still ruled out.

Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Salah, Mane, Firmino.

Subs; Adrian, Matip, Hoever, Lallana, Jones, Minamino, Origi.
