Liverpool team news confirmed as Diogo Jota and Fabinho return against Chelsea

Fabinho returns to the Liverpool team for Nat Phillips as the champions entertain Chelsea at Anfield.

Diogo Jota makes his first appearance in a match-day squad for nearly three months as the Reds aim to go back into the top four in the Premier League.

Phillips started Sunday's 2-0 win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane but drops out of the squad altogether for the game against the Londoners.

Fabinho hasn't played since the 4-1 defeat to Manchester City on February 7 but is back in the team at centre-back once more after returning to training last week.

It means Fabinho's partnership with Ozan Kabak is Liverpool's 19th different pairing at centre-half this season.

Jurgen Klopp continues with the same midfield trio that helped them to three points in Sheffield as Curtis Jones starts again alongside Thiago Alcantara and Gini Wijnaldum.

Roberto Firmino is once again flanked by Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah as Liverpool aim to end a run of four successive defeats at Anfield.

A strong-looking substitutes' bench also sees Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Divock Origi, Xherdan Shaqiri and James Milner involved.

Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, Kabak, Robertson; Thiago, Wijnaldum, Jones; Salah, Firmino, Mane.

Subs: Adrian, Milner, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jota, Shaqiri, Origi, R Williams, N Williams.
