Liverpool 'target' to be given €120m release clause and more transfer rumours

While Premier League football might be on hiatus thanks to the coronavirus crisis, the rumour mill grinds forever onwards like the monstrous juggernaut it is.

That’s no different for Liverpool, with various snippets of gossip in the headlines at the moment. First up...

Carlos Vinicius

Benfica forward Carlos Vinicius is reportedly set to sign a new deal which will include a release clause of €120m.

Vinicius moved to Portugal from Napoli last summer and has scored 15 goals in the Primeira Liga this season. That has been enough to send his value skyrocketing even further, with Benfica bringing him in for only €17m.

Where?

Rumoured to be a target for Liverpool and Wolves, he is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League.

What?

According to Portuguese newspaper Record , via Sport Witness , the 25-year-old is now close to signing new terms which will increase his release clause from €100m to €120m to protect him from overseas interest.

Liverpool have reportedly sent scouts to watch the Brazilian, which has helped to nudge Benfica towards offering him a contract renewal.

Jadon Sancho

Who?

Elsewhere, it has been suggested that Anfield is the most likely destination for Jadon Sancho even though Manchester United are working hard to sign the Borussia Dortmund winger.

Sancho could cost an enormous €130m but, as one of the breakout stars of the Bundesliga, he was never going to come cheap.

Where?

Former Premier League and Bundesliga star Jan Aage Fjortoft has suggested that “Liverpool [is] still [the] most likely destination” for Sancho but that either Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah would have to depart first.

Sancho isn’t keen on moving to a club where he will have limited game time which, given his glittering array of options this summer, makes sense.

What?

It would be an early contender for transfer of the decade, but there are still quite a few caveats to Sancho’s arrival on Merseyside.

With uncertainty over the rest of the season, Borussia Dortmund may even try to keep him.

Evan N’Dicka

Who?

Having moved to Eintracht Frankfurt from Auxerre in 2018, Ndicka is now well established in the Bundesliga. Still only 20 years of age, he has made 15 league appearances this term.

Where?

According to Sky Sports , he is being monitored by Liverpool and Arsenal.

What?

Having played mainly on the left side of defence this season, he could serve as cover for Andy Robertson. A France youth international, he would make for an interesting acquisition.
