Liverpool 'target' Gleison Bremer heaps praise on Virgil van Dijk as transfer rumours continue

Liverpool-linked defender Gleison Bremer has admitted Virgil van Dijk is a player he admires in his position of the pitch.

A report by GOAL emerged earlier this week claiming the Reds are 'among the clubs tracking the progress' of the Torino centre-back, who is under contract at the Serie A side until 2024. The story continued by stating Inter Milan are currently the side in pole position to sign the 25-year-old this summer, however, who is valued at £21million.

Should Bremer make the move to Anfield, he would be operating alongside the best in the business: Van Dijk. The Dutch defender is an individual the Serie A star looks up to, which would likely represent a dream transfer if a deal can be done.

Liverpool will contest the biggest game of this year's Premier League season on Sunday afternoon. The Reds are scheduled to face Manchester City at the Etihad, who lead at the top of the table by a single point with just eight matches remaining.

Jurgen Klopp can gain a lead at the summit of England's top-flight but at the same time, Pep Guardiola is toying with the prospect of going four points clear. The clash could decide the team who end the campaign champions.

In order to deliver victory away against City for just the second time in his managerial career, Klopp could switch things up. He enforced a tactical change last season and this time around, he could use it again.
