Liverpool suffer injury blow as Divock Origi is forced off against Newcastle

Liverpool have been dealt an injury blow after Divock Origi limped out of Saturday's clash against Newcastle .

The Belgian striker started up front in place of Roberto Firmino, who was rested after returning from international duty.

However, he was called into action after 37 minutes when Origi was withdrawn.

The 24-year-old turned his ankle and was unable to continue, forcing Jurgen Klopp into an early change.

"Div has an ankle injury and we all hope it's not too serious," said the Liverpool boss afterwards.

Newcastle had taken a shock early lead when full-back Jetro Willems fired the visitors ahead.

However, Sadio Mane hauled the hosts level with a fine curling effort before adding another goal before the break.

Mo Salah wrapped up victory for Liverpool after the break.
