Liverpool suffer another injury blow to hand Chelsea and Tottenham Premier League advantage

Liverpool have suffered yet another injury blow during their draw with Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Reds have a lengthy injury list and that was added to as they were held to a 1-1 draw by the Seagulls at the Amex Stadium.

James Milner was forced off after 74 minutes to be replaced by Curtis Jones, with the Englishman going straight down the tunnel clutching his hamstring.

That could see the veteran midfielder out for a number of weeks, which is bad news for Jurgen Klopp and good news for Liverpool's rivals for the Premier League title.

Klopp is already missing Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Thiago Alcantara and Xherdan Shaqiri and the addition of Milner to the physio's table will hurt.

Chelsea vs Spurs is special rivalry

Brighton ground out a 1-1 draw with the Premier League champions, thanks to an injury-time leveller from the penalty spot from Pascal Gross, with Neal Maupay missing an earlier penalty for the hosts and Liverpool having two goals disallowed by VAR for offside.

The dropped points and the addition to the treatment table will surely hand the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham the advantage in the Premier League title race.

The London rivals go head-to-head at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon, with both sides knowing that three points will take them to the top of the Premier League table.
