Liverpool strongest line-up against Fulham without Diogo Jota, Thiago and James Milner

Liverpool are sweating over a knee injury to Portuguese forward Diogo Jota after the 24-year-old sustained a problem during the Champions League clash with FC Midtjylland last week.

Jurgen Klopp's men were already guaranteed top spot in Group D as they played out a 1-1 draw in Denmark, with Jota starting and playing 87 minutes in that match having played less than 20 minutes the weekend before against Wolves.

It is not yet known how long Jota's injury will keep him out for, but he will be missing as his teammates travel to Fulham in the Premier League on Sunday.

Here is how Liverpool could line up given that is the case...

Alisson Becker is back and is likely to replace Caoimhin Kelleher in goal, while Trent Alexander-Arnold also returns having started his first match after a calf injury earlier in the week in the same match Jota picked up his injury.

At centre-back, Joel Matip and Fabinho are both fit to play and represent Klopp's strongest pairing at the heart of the defence right now.

Andy Robertson is almost certain to start at left-back given Kostas Tsimikas went off injured against Midtjylland, with the Scot replacing him in that game.

In midfield, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is fit again and has been in full training, but may have to settle for a place on the bench.

Jordan Henderson , Naby Keita , Curtis Jones and Gini Wijnaldum are also available in that position, though Oxlade-Chamberlain will be hoping for some minutes off the bench at the very least.

And up front, with Jota missing, Mohamed Salah , Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino are likely to form a front three.

Neither Takumi Minamino nor Divock Origi did enough midweek to suggest they have earned a start here.

Possible Liverpool starting XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Fabinho, Robertson, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Jones, Salah, Firmino, Mane
