Liverpool striker Sadio Mane explains exactly what was said between him and Mohamed Salah at Burnley

Liverpool star Sadio Mane has lifted the lid on exactly what Mohamed Salah said to him after the incident at Burnley.

The Senegal international was aggrieved when the Egyptian forward failed to pass to him during the Reds routine 3-0 win at Turf Moor in August.

Mane was visibly annoyed after Salah opted to shoot and this frustration was also on display when he was substituted by Jurgen Klopp later in the match.

Speaking to former Liverpool player Florent Sinama-Pongolle for French TV channel Canal+, Mane explained the reason for his outburst and what Salah told him.

Sinama-Pongolle asked: "I wanna talk about what happened with Mo. That moment has really gone around the world."

To which the striker responded: "I was frustrated a bit too much. I said it to him on the pitch, and protested when I was taken off because I was so frustrated.

"It's something that came about naturally. Mo is someone I respect a lot, of course. He's my team-mate and we have a good relationship.

"It's the first time we had a little tiff like that. Even him, he was surprised after the match. He said to me 'Sadio! Why are you being like this?' I said 'Because I'm so frustrated!' After we made sure to talk to clear the air."

Ahead of Liverpool's Champions League clash with his former club RB Salzburg, Mane revealed there is no riff between the duo.

"I think things can happen in football," the forward told. "I feel a little bit frustrated because it's football you want to score more goals.

"You can see Man City eight, six, seven nil. You can see it, no? So, for me and for the team it is really important for us to score as many goals as we can.

"But it can happen because he didn't see me and I was a bit frustrated. But we come out [of it] as really, really good friends.

"You know it is all forgotten, it is behind us."
