Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster completes loan move to Swansea City

Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster has completed a loan move to Swansea until the end of the Championship season.

The 19-year-old has featured just three times this term and is still awaiting his Premier League debut after moving up to the senior set-up under Jurgen Klopp back in the summer.

Liverpool have been keen to send the talented youngster out on a short-term deal to gain some much-needed exposure to senior football and the club had been in talks with the Swans, among others, in recent weeks.

A key sticking point had centred around the amount of game-time the Welsh side were willing to offer the Liverpool frontman, with Brewster's parent club eager to see him kick on while out on loan for the rest of the campaign.

It is also believed the Reds didn't ask for a loan fee from Swansea although non-playing penalties were understood to be included in the deal.

However, an agreement has now been reached and the teenager will spend the remainder of the term at the Liberty Stadium.

Swans coach Steve Cooper was England Under-17 boss when Brewster's eight goals fired the Young Lions to a World Cup triumph in India back in October 2017 and the Swans manager has kept close tabs on the forward's career path since.

Liverpool had wanted to keep hold of Brewster to play a part in Sunday's Merseyside derby before they agreed to a switch and the England Under-21 international came off the bench for the final 11 minutes of the 1-0 win.
