Liverpool striker Diogo Jota has scored more home goals than Manchester United

Diogo Jota has scored more home Premier League goals than Manchester United have this season, despite playing 300 fewer minutes.

Jota 's header against Leicester City at Anfield saw the Portugese forward surpass United's tally so far this season.

The Reds star has now scored four goals for at home in the top-flight, one more than what United (three) have achieved in even more time.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men picked up their first victory at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday night, as they edged past West Bromwich Albion thanks to a Bruno Fernandes penalty - at the second time of asking.

Fernandes' strike from 12 yards was United's third top-flight home goal of the campaign so far - in their fifth match at their own stadium.

In those five games, the Manchester-based club have won just one, lost three and drew one.

In fact, Jota's four goals is more from open play than Man City have managed at home, with Pep Guardiola's men notching just two.

Since Jota has arrived at Anfield he's been on absolute fire for Jurgen Klopp 's side and has somehow integrated his way into Liverpool's usually explosive front trio.

The 23-year-old has scored in five of his last six games for the Reds in all competitions; with three of those matches being played on the red half of Merseyside.

Jota scored Liverpool's second goal of the night against Leicester on Sunday, with the ex-Wolves star heading in brilliantly after a fantastic Andy Robertson cross from the left-hand side.

This followed an own goal from former United centre-back Jonny Evans, who headed past his own goalkeeper after a James Milner corner. Roberto Firmino scored Liverpool's third.

Jota, who was signed from Wolves for a fee in the region of £40m, has now scored in his first four home league games - against Arsenal, Sheffield United, West Ham United and Leicester - and has become the first man to do so for Liverpool in their history.
