Liverpool streets transformed into 1960s London for mystery filming project

Film crews took over a number of streets in Liverpool today as the city centre was transformed into London for a mystery production.

Large vehicles for lighting and equipment were spotted on Exchange Street West with security guards manning the area.

Details about the project remain confidential, with Liverpool Film Office keeping tight-lipped over the scenes being recorded.

In one picture, classic vehicles, including an old fashioned London Bus and a 1960s Vauxhall Cresta can be seen lining the streets giving some indication of what to expect.

A red double decker bus, one of the iconic symbols of London, could be seen parked up on Exchange Street West with Victoria Station its apparent destination.

An old fashioned ‘Typhoo Tea’ advert banner can also be seen stuck on the side of the retro red bus.

Another picture shows a vintage poster stuck on a plank of wood with only half of the sign visible. The visible part of the poster reads : “AIR CRASH - City Gazette.”

The trailers and vans are the latest spotting of film activity in Liverpool which has now become the go to place for TV dramas and Hollywood films.

It is not the first time Exchange Flags and the surrounding streets have been used for filming in recent months with film crews sighted there in November 2020.
