Liverpool and Chelsea starting line-ups as Jurgen Klopp springs surprise in Super Cup team

Sadio Mane returns to the Liverpool side for the Super Cup against Chelsea as Roberto Firmino drops to the bench.

Mane was introduced as a second-half substitute for Friday's 4-1 win over Norwich after only returning to training earlier that week.

However, the Senegal star is recalled to the Reds' front three alongside Mohamed Salah and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

It's Oxlade-Chamberlain's first start since he suffered a serious and long-term knee injury against Roma in April 2018.

Meanwhile, Firmino is only part of the 11-man substitutes' bench as Klopp rotates his options ahead of Saturday's trip to Southampton.

Liverpool: Adrian, Gomez, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Milner, Henderson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mane, Salah.

Subs: Lonergan, Kelleher, Wijnaldum, Firmino, Lallana, Shaqiri, Brewster, Origi, Hoever, Alexander-Arnold, Elliott.

Chelsea team: Kepa, Azpilicueta, Christensen, Zouma, Emerson, Kovacic, Jorginho, Kante, Pedro, Pulisic, Giroud.
