Liverpool winger Harvey Elliott has agreed a new contract with the club, less than a year after joining from Fulham.
The talented teenager made his Premier League debut last season for the Cottagers at just 16 years and 30 days old, becoming the youngest-ever player in the competition in the process.
A switch to Anfield followed in July, with Elliott since going on to make seven first-team appearances for the Reds, including one cameo in the league.
The new deal will run until 2023 but he will not sign it until the summer, after he turns 17 in April.
This is due to FA rulings, which stipulate players under 17 cannot sign professional contract terms.
Fulham were thought to be asking for between £7-10 million for Elliott in a transfer fee, which would be a record amount for a fee set by a tribunal.
The two clubs were unable to agree terms at the time of Elliott’s move in the summer.
Elliott’s league debut for the Reds came in January at Anfield against Sheffield United, but he has played a more prominent role in the FA and League Cups so far.
His next such opportunity to feature could come next week, when the Reds play Chelsea in the FA Cup fifth round.
