Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has sent his well wishes to Ronald Koeman after he was announced as the new Barcelona boss.
The former Everton boss has succeeded Quique Setien, who was sacked following Barcelona's shocking 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich on Friday night.
The Dutchman has left his job as manager of the Netherlands with two years remaining on his contract to make the move back to the club he enjoyed success with as a player.
And Van Dijk, who worked alongside Koeman with the Netherlands and at Southampton, has taken to social media to wish his former boss well in his new challenge.
He wrote on Twitter: “All the best trainer!” followed an orange heart emoji and a Netherlands flag emoji.
"Everyone knows that Barcelona is my dream club. It feels very special to me to be able to become a coach there,” Koeman told the Dutch FA's website.
"It was an honour to be the national coach of the Netherlands. Over the past two-and-a-half years, I have done everything I can to achieve success.
"I look back with pride on what we have achieved together in that period. The Dutch national team has a bright future, I am convinced of that."
While speaking on Tuesday - before Koeman's appointment was confirmed - Barca chief Josep Maria Bartomeu said: "We already know how he thinks and his philosophy. We bet on him. He was the first one we called in January.
"It's a dream for him. As he was in Johan's 'Dream Team', he knows Barca and how we understand football."
Koeman, who spent six years as a player at Barcelona, has signed a two-year contract with the club.
