Liverpool star Virgil van Dijk gives his honest opinion on Arsenal's attacking players

Virgil van Dijk believes Arsenal's striking duo of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette is "fantastic".

The Liverpool defender made the comment when naming a dream five-a-side team comprised of Premier League stars, in which he picked Aubameyang as the forward.

Van Dijk was unable to name any of his Liverpool team-mates.

The Dutchman told Liverpool's official website: "Based on what he has done throughout the season. Together Lacazette and Aubameyang are a fantastic striking duo.

"I could also put Aguero in but I think he's a good striker and I think the numbers have showed that as well since he arrived."

Van Dijk has faced off against the Gunners pair on a number of occasions, and is clearly impressed with their relationship on the pitch.

Aubameyang has made 32 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions this season, and has netted an impressive 20 goals.

His form ahead of all football being suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic saw him bag four goals in his last five fixtures.

France international striker Lacazette, meanwhile, has made 26 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners this season. He has netted just nine, but had hit form prior to the season being suspended.

Lacazette was on target in Arsenal's 4-0 win against Newcastle before scoring next time out in the 1-0 victory over Olympiakos.

He failed to net as the Gunners were dumped out of the Europa League in the return leg, but was back on target in the 1-0 win over West Ham.
