Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold loses out to Wolves' Diogo Jota in Fifa 20 ePremier League Invitational

Wolves' Diogo Jota snatched victory in the final of the Fifa 20 ePremier League Invitational with a dramatic 2-1 victory against Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold.

While Alexander-Arnold sealed his place in the showpiece with a stunning 3-2 comeback victory against Manchester City's Raheem Sterling, Jota took a more conventional route with a 4-1 thumping against Burnley's Dwight McNeil.

Jota took his sublime form into the final, although it was a closer affair this time, with the Wolves forward claiming victory via Golden Goal to bring an end to the five-day tournament.

A disappointed Alexander-Arnold said: "It was very difficult to break him down, he was patient defensively. I thought I did well against him but he probably deserved to win."

A plethora of Premier League players competed in the tournament, including Reece James, Wilfried Zaha and Moussa Sissoko.

While players certainly showed that their competitive spirits had not diminished during the Covid-19 lockdown, it was ultimately all for a good cause in the #PlayersTogether initiative.

The initiative - which last week made its first contribution to the NHS to assist in the battle against coronavirus - is putting forward donations made throughout the tournament.
