Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold gives blunt answer to Manchester United question

Trent Alexander-Arnold says he'd 'rather retire' than leave Liverpool to join rivals Manchester United.

The defender was named EA Sports Premier League Player of the month for November and was asked a series of 'would you rather' questions in an interview with Sky Sports.

When asked whether he would rather retire or sign for United, the 23-year-old's answer was clear.

"Right now, retire to be honest," he responded.

"I could not do that [play for United]."

He was also asked whether he would rather play against Everton in the Merseyside Derby or against United.

"United is probably the bigger game historically," the full-back answered.

"I'd say Man United, more people watch."

Alexander-Arnold was on the scoresheet in Liverpool's 3-1 win over Newcastle United on Thursday night.

The England international netted his second goal of the campaign, and the Reds' third of the match, with a thunderbolt strike.

He earned his second Premier League monthly honour, though, for his goal against West Ham last month, as well as his four assists.
