Liverpool star Thiago Alcantara has registered a suspected positive Covid-19 test just days after playing against Newcastle United.
The Spanish playmaker started and was replaced by James Milner in added time of the 3-1 victory at Anfield on Thursday night.
The former Bayern Munich and Barcelona star was guilty of a poor clearance which allowed Jonjo Shelvey to fire the Magpies into a surprise early lead.

However, the 30-year-old was been ruled out of Liverpool's clash at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon following a suspected positive test.
Thiago will now isolate as a result, having joined Fabinho, Curtis Jones and Virgil van Dijk in returning suspected positive tests, with the trio missing out on the midweek win.

Jordan Henderson has also not been included in Jurgen Klopp's matchday squad in the capital, although the former Sunderland midfielder has registered a negative test despite feeling unwell.
A Liverpool club statement read: "All of the Reds’ first-team squad and staff have been tested for COVID-19 on Saturday as well as this morning, with no further positive cases detected, which includes Henderson."
