Liverpool star sends Danny Welbeck a Europa League final message the Arsenal fans will love

Former Arsenal player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has sent a message to former teammate Danny Welbeck ahead of the striker's return from injury.

Welbeck has been out of action for more than six months after sustaining an ankle injury in the Europa League group stage against Sporting Club Portugal.

The striker has undergone surgery, but is on his way to recovery ahead of the final against Chelsea on Wednesday. The 28-year-old has been taking part in full training ahead of the game, and has features in a friendly match against LASK Linz, a game which Arsenal won 6-0.

Welbeck has travelled with the Arsenal squad to Baku, and could play a part in the final.

After arriving in Azerbaijan the England international striker posted a video of the work that has gone into his recovery behind the scenes on his social media account. The caption read "Some journeys are worth making....Glad to be back."

While Arsenal fans will be happy to see the video, there is one comment that appeared that will make them even happier.

The comment from now Liverpool man Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain which reads "You just love to see it... my guy."

The two played together at Arsenal between the years of 2014 and 2017, and were also teammates in the England national side. Chamberlain himself recovered from a long term injury in order to make his comeback in time for a major European final. Liverpool play Spurs in the Champions League finale three days after the Arsenal match.

Both Welbeck and Oxlade-Chamberlain will be hoping that their timely recoveries can have a positive impact on their teams for their respective European finals.
