Liverpool star sends warning to Spurs and Mauricio Pochettino ahead of Champions League final

Tottenham Hotspur and Mauricio Pochettino have been warned that they will face a different Liverpool side in the Champions League final.

Both teams overcame the odds in their respective semi-finals to set up an all-Premier League meeting at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium with European club football's biggest prize on the line.

For the Reds and Jurgen Klopp it's a second successive Champions League final having lost to Real Madrid last season.

The nightmare scenario that two teams can still hand Tottenham in the Champions League

To reach back-to-back finals as well as missing out on the Premier League title to Manchester City despite amassing 97 points does show the progress the Merseyside giants have made in 12 months, but it won't count for much should they end the season trophyless.

Therefore, Joe Gomez has warned Spurs that his side are in a different place mentally as they go in search of a sixth European cup.

"I definitely think we go into this final in a different place," Gomez told Liverpoolfc.com . "It's still a Champions League final and they're always separate occasions and you have to approach it with the same mentality.

"But I think this year speaks for itself and the growth in the team has been massive.

"[The manager] shows and emphasises the fact that we're a different team and we can't go into thinking that we're the same team.

"In that sense, we can take the confidence from that, but still have the desire to win one because we know what it means for this club and we want to get the sixth star."

The Reds named their 26-man squad for their training camp ahead of the final and there was a shock inclusion for Naby Keita who hasn't featured since limping off in the first-leg against Barcelona.
