Liverpool star Sadio Mane given special gift after reaching Premier League milestone

Sadio Mane has been rewarded with a new pair of boots to commemorate his achievement of scoring 100 Premier League goals.

The Senegalese forward reached this impressive milestone during Liverpool's comprehensive 5-0 win over Watford this afternoon, having put Jurgen Klopp's side ahead in the match.

It was certainly a day to remember for the 29-year-old, who became the 30th player in the history of the Premier League to reach triple figures for goals - doing so without scoring a single penalty - and the third African player to score 100 times in the top-flight.

Paying homage to this impressive landmark, Mane has now receieved a special present from his boot supplier.

New Balance, who the 29-year-old partnered with in 2018, have createx a new version of the 'Furon v6' boot he wears which features gold detailing across the soleplate while the words ‘100 goals’ have also been added to the back of the boot.

Commenting on this moment to remember after Saturday's win, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said: "The special thing is that he [Mane] scored 100 goals without a penalty and that makes a difference.

"That's a special number and he should be proud of that. It doesn't happen for a lot of players but he is a world-class player. It's incredible how good he is. It's a big day for him, and I'm really happy for him."

Mane scored 21 of his century of Premier League goals during his two seasons with former side Southampton, netting ten times in his first campaign and 11 the following year.

The mercurial forward has reached double figures for goals in each of his five full seasons at Liverpool, following his £34million move back in 2016.

His best goalscoring season was the 2018/19, which saw Mane score 22 goals to share the Golden Boot with Mohamed Salah and Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
