Liverpool star Roberto Firmino trains ahead of Barcelona trip as Mohamed Salah allays injury fears

Liverpool have been handed a huge fitness boost as both Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah trained ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final first-leg meeting with Barcelona at Camp Nou.

Firmino was a doubt for the clash with the Catalans having missed Friday night's 5-0 Premier League victory over relegated Huddersfield Town with a groin injury.

However, the Brazilian forward joined in training at Melwood as normal on Tuesday, signalling his availability for the trip in the process.

Meanwhile, Salah’s fitness had been the subject of plenty of social media speculation over the last 24 hours.

The Reds' No11 was rumoured to have picked up a thigh injury during training that required further assessment.

But, like Firmino, he took part in Tuesday’s session and looks set to feature in Spain as Liverpool go head to head with LaLiga champions Barcelona in a competitive fixture for the first time since 2007.

As is the case on the domestic front, Salah and Firmino - in addition to Sadio Mane - have been crucial figures for the Reds in Europe so far this term, notching four goals apiece en route to the semi-finals.
