Liverpool star pays touching tribute to Jose Antonio Reyes after Champions League win over Spurs

Alberto Moreno has paid tribute to his former Sevilla teammate Jose Antonio Reyes after collecting a Champions League winner's medal in the final at Madrid.

Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 thanks to a penalty from Mohamed Salah and late strike by Divock Origi to hand Jurgen Klopp's side victory.

In the moments after the final whistle, Moreno was caught by the cameras on BT Sport inside the Wanda Metropolitano wearing a special t-shirt.

The Spaniard won the Europa League with Reyes at Sevilla in 2014 prior to his move to Liverpool and he pointed to a print on the item of clothing, encouraging the camera to zoom in.

It featured a picture of Moreno with Reyes and a caption that read: "I love you, brother."

Prior to kick off, a moment's silence was held as a mark of respect for the former Arsenal midfielder, who died in a car accident the morning of the game.

Moreno was visibly upset as fans, players and staff around the arena took a moment to reflect.

Arsene Wenger, Freddie Ljungberg and other figures in the game have shared their memories of Reyes and paid tribute to his talent and qualities as a person.
