Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has been voted the best player in the Premier League by FourFourTwo magazine.
The Dutch centre-back has enjoyed an outstanding season at Liverpool and he is favourite to land PFA Player of the Year award on Sunday.
He leads the way in the magazine's ranking of the top 50 players in the Premier League .
Writing about the popular defender, they state: "If you’ve ever stood next to Liverpool’s towering Dutchman, you’ll immediately understand why Premier League defenders visibly shrink when in his presence.

“He’s Virgil van Dijk, he’s Virgil van Dijk!” sing Liverpool fans to the tune of Dirty Old Town . It’s pretty hard to miss him, lads. The 27-year-old centre-back is the glue which holds together a Reds’ rearguard that’s otherwise leakier than Theresa May’s cabinet.

Mohamed Salah is included in the top ten despite being snubbed in the PFA vote with the Egyptian taking seventh spot ahead of Harry Kane.
Fellow Reds team-mate Sadio Mane comes in fifth placve with Andrew Robertson the tenth best player in the league, according to the ranking.
