Liverpool star Mohamed Salah stretchered off after suffering head injury vs Newcastle

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah was stretchered off during Saturday's Premier League clash against Newcastle United after suffering a worrying head injury at St James' Park.

With the sides level at 2-2 midway through the second half, Salah felt the full force of an aerial challenge from Martin Dubravka as the Newcastle goalkeeper came to punch a long ball.

The collision left Salah sprawled on the turf, with the Egypt international barely moving as Liverpool's medical staff entered the field to attend to him.

Salah required lengthy treatment before being stretchered off the turf clutching his head, sparking fears of a potential concussion.

If Salah has indeed suffered a concussion, then it remains to be seen whether the forward will be fit to face Barcelona in Tuesday night's Champions League semi-final second leg at Anfield.

Salah's potential absence would come as a further blow to Jurgen Klopp, who also looks likely to be without forward Roberto Firmino against Barca due to injury.
