Liverpool star Mohamed Salah set to be honoured at Madame Tussauds

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah is set to be the latest star to have a model of himself produced by Madame Tussauds.

The waxwork will be unveiled at their London museum later in 2020, with work now beginning on the model, which will be the first of its kind of the Egypt international.

Reds fans have been urged to monitor the museum's social media channels as progress is made on the figure throughout the coming weeks and months.

Speaking on the model, Salah said: “I am so excited to be working with the artists of Madame Tussauds on my first ever figure."

While Madame Tussauds general manager said: “We’re kicking off 2020 with this announcement which is sure to be a crowd-pleaser for football lovers around the world.

“As Egyptian Forward and currently both European and World Club Champion with Liverpool FC, Mo Salah is a global star at the peak of his power.

“We know that fans will love seeing him at the home of celebrity, where he rightly belongs.”

Former Reds captain Steven Gerrard was the last Liverpool star to be unveiled at the world-famous Madame Tussauds in the capital, almost 10 years ago.

Michael Bublé and Taylor Swift will also had waxworks revealed at the London museum late last year.
