Liverpool star Mohamed Salah makes Tottenham point as Andy Robertson explains Antonio Conte flaw

Tottenham Hotspur suffered a huge loss in the early race for top four as Liverpool beat them 2-1 in north London on Sunday. A first-half brace from Egypt star Mohamed Salah was enough to secure all three points for the Reds who've struggled in the Premier League so far this season.

Spurs were booed off by their own fans at half-time as Jurgen Klopp's side took a 2-0 lead with them into the break. Harry Kane managed to peg one back in the second-half but it wasn't enough to get anything from the game.

Antonio Conte's side did make it difficult for Liverpool, particularly in the second-half, but full-back Andy Robertson explained how the Reds were able to exploit a weakness in Spurs' setup.

"We knew that if they were playing three at the back, me and Trent would have a lot of space and to try and capitalise on that," Robertson told Sky Sports after the game. "We got forward and were able to provide the chances for the boys up front and they made the magic happen. Luckily we had a two-goal advantage and we know they are better in the second half, but we stood strong and it was a really professional performance."

On the other hand, match-winner Mohamed Salah continued by explaining how difficult it is to play against Tottenham: "They are always a tough opponent whether we play them here or at home, but I am always focused on the game and trying to make a difference for the team."

Defeat means that Spurs now sit in fourth place, one point behind Newcastle United in third and eight behind league leaders Arsenal, who also have a game in hand.
