Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold explains why Reds' title mindset is different as he issues message to Man City

Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold has issued a Premier League title warning to Manchester City.

The Reds lead Man City by eight points after eight consecutive wins in the league ahead of their trip to Manchester United on Sunday.

But after relinquishing a seven-point lead last season to lose the title race by one point to Man City, everyone associated with Liverpool know the domestic race is far from over.

However, Alexander-Arnold insists that Liverpool have learned from their mistakes and will be a tougher nut to crack this season.

The 21-year-old pointed towards Liverpool winning the Champions League in June one year after losing the final when he gave his verdict on what the Reds can do this term.

"The players that we have in our side have all had failures before, we’ve all had setbacks and knockbacks," he told Premier League Productions .

"We’ve really bounced back from there and got to where we are now and where we are as a team.

"The biggest example of that is probably the fact that we lost the Champions League final the season before and were able to use that as motivation to get back there and win it the next season.

"It’s something a lot of teams aren’t capable of, but we’ve showed that we are and we’re able to get better from disappointment."
