Liverpool star drops transfer hint amid rumours linking him with a move away this summer

Dejan Lovren has dropped a huge hint that he is hoping to remain at Liverpool this summer.

The former Southampton defender came close to a switch to Serie A before the start of the season, but no move ever materialised despite plenty of continued specualtion.

But with the Reds centre-back set to enter the final 12 months of his contract this summer, speculation is set to continue linking him with a move away from Anfield.

Both Arsenal and Tottenham are just two clubs who have been linked with the Croatia international ahead of the upcoming window.

But writing on Twitter on Wednesday evening, Lovren appeared to hint that he is aiming to remain at Anfield and isn’t seeking a move away.

“Thank you, I appreciate that. But I am not done yet,” he wrote on the social media site after a fan thanked him for his goal against Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League four years ago.

While speaking to the club's website back in April, Lovren also hinted then that he is hoping to extend his stay at Liverpool beyond the summer.

"It’s important to have a mix between really young players, the middle [age] players and the experienced players," he said.

"I think we have it, this is the great balance. We are used to playing big finals and the big games and we know how to manage it.

"Even when we are 1-0 down we know what to do. This is why it’s important to have a balance in the team. If we keep the important players and the core of the team here for many years, we will only grow."
