Liverpool star Andy Robertson remembers his Glasgow roots after title celebrations

Andy Robertson has reflected on his Glasgow roots after lifting the Premier League trophy.

The Scotland captain played a key role in Liverpool's success as they won English football's top prize for the first time in 30 years.

Jurgen Klopp's team were presented with the trophy on Wednesday night following their 5-3 win over Chelsea at Anfield, and after the celebrations the former Queen's Park and Dundee United player stopped to remember where he'd come from.

The 26-year-old tweeted: "Just a kid from Glasgow who had a dream of playing football. Never did I think winning this was possible. The best feeling ever and hopefully one of many more to come #YNWA."

Robertson had earlier shared an image of the Liverpool squad celebrating with the caption: "It feels fitting for the 96 at Hillsborough we’re lifting this trophy on 96 points. This is for you. #CHAM19ONS."

Robertson began his career as a youth player at Celtic, eventually joining Liverpool for £8m in July 2017. The left-back made his Scotland debut in 2014 and has been capped 34 times.

Liverpool will end their season on Sunday against Newcastle United at St James' Park.
