Liverpool star Andrew Robertson's warning over Bruce's ability to get response from squad

Liverpool star Andrew Robertson has warned his team-mates not take anything for granted ahead of Wednesday's encounter with his old boss Steve Bruce at St James' Park.

The Scotland international played under Bruce at Hull City and is not taking Newcastle lightly - despite the fact Newcastle are without a win four matches now in all competitions.

Robertson and Liverpool could only draw 1-1 with West Brom on Sunday at Anfield and blew a chance to increase their lead at the top.

The full-back said: "We go to Newcastle and we try to bounce back, of course we do.

"But it’s going to be another tough task.

"I know Steve Bruce’s teams will give absolutely everything, they always have done.

"I know Newcastle is never an easy place to go.

"So we need to be a lot better than we were in the second half today to get anything there, and we need to try to bounce back and try to get back on track.

"It’s time for us to try to kick on now and we need to try to put a run together where we win games.

"Unfortunately, we’ve not managed to do that tonight, but in three days’ time we go again and hopefully we can get back on track then."
