Liverpool St Patrick's Day Parade 2020 details announced

Four marching bands will take part in this year's Liverpool St Patrick's Day Parade.

The event, which is in its fifth year, will take place on Tuesday, March 17 at 3pm.

It is estimated that more than 500 people are set to take part in this year's parade through the city centre.

Those taking part in the parade will assemble at 2pm at the old Irish centre on Mount Pleasant, near the city's Catholic Cathedral.

Four marching bands - including the Fianna Phadraig Pipe Band from Manchester - will march off at 3pm and it will finish outside O'Neill's Irish bar on Hanover street.

Declan Doolin is the chair of the Liverpool St Patrick's Day Parade and he said: "Every year the parade gets bigger.

"People flock to see our parades now and this is our fifth year in existence.

"We cannot wait and we hope the weather stays good for us on the day."
