Liverpool specialist coach confirms extension of contract with Champions League winners

Liverpool's throw-in coach Thomas Gronnemark has announced he will remain at the club for the 2019/20 season.

The Dane joined the Reds last August and was instructed to help improve and fine-tune Liverpool's throw ins by manager Jurgen Klopp.

Gronnemark, who describes himself as a "Freelance throw-in coach", confirmed the news to Danish publication Skive Folkeblad.

He said: "I'm continuing in the club this season. It has not been officially announced, but it has been featured in so many media outlets. I did not make a press release, but it is true, so I can confirm it.

"It is fantastic. When we have just won the Champions League and were one point away from winning the English Championship, it will not get much bigger and much better - especially when Jurgen Klopp is also so happy with my efforts. It's great to be appreciated.

"There are clubs in the world that are probably on par with Liverpool, but there aren't many, so for me it doesn't get any bigger than being at Liverpool.

"It is confidential what the contract contains, but I have a contract for the entire season," the specialist explained.

"I am also affiliated with Ghent and a third confidential club in Europe. Last season, I worked with six clubs, and I expect at least to reach the same during this season."
