Liverpool spa hidden beneath historic part of the city where you can escape everything

After the last few months many of us are in need of a getaway, yet it’s still not all that easy with social distancing measures and some lockdown restrictions still in place.

But there’s a way you can escape the city, without actually leaving Liverpool and get that much needed peace and quiet you’re craving.

Hidden beneath a historic part of Liverpool is a subterranean sanctuary which will transport you away from the hustle and bustle of the streets above.

With a Roman bath-style hydrotherapy pool and calming thermal suite, the tranquil space is the perfect hideaway.

The Maya Blue Wellness spa beneath the Titanic Hotel on Stanley Dock, has now reopened to hotel guests, and is open to non residents from August 17.

The site is a stone's throw away from the historic docklands and warehouses that thrived in the Port of Liverpool. Even today, the streets above are occupied with people travelling in and out of Liverpool, and working in businesses that run from this part of the city.

Stanley Dock has even been used as a filming location for blockbusters and TV shows, including Captain America: The First Avenger, Sherlock Holmes and Peaky Blinders.

But beneath all that, the Maya Blue Wellness spa features 10 treatment rooms where you can book a relaxing pamper session, including signature ESPA treatments, express treatments and wellness packages.

To ensure social distancing measures are adhered to, all guests must pre-book to access the spa and a thorough cleaning programme will be carried out throughout the day and following every treatment.
