New Liverpool signing Diogo Jota has claimed that a popular video game has helped him in his career.
The Reds completed the signing of the Portuguese international on Saturday, as Jurgen Klopp goes about strengthening his squad for the new season.
Jota enjoyed three impressive seasons at Wolves, helping them earn promotion from the Championship all the way to the Europe League knockout stages.
In three seasons in England since his move from Atletico Madrid in 2017, Jota has scored 44 goals and contributed 19 assists in 131 appearances.
There is no doubt that since his arrival three years ago, Jota has developed his game well which has led to Klopp sanctioning the move to bring him to Anfield.
Now the Reds new boy says that playing FIFA 20 has helped him understand the tactical side of the game more.
Earlier this year, the Portuguese international revealed that he was “Coaching Telford United” on Football Manager, declaring: “I’m already in 2029!”
However, the winger also reckons that playing FIFA 20 can help his real-life game on the pitch.
“In FIFA you can understand tactics better,” Dexerto quote Jota as telling The Athletic.
He added: "Yes, you play for fun, but you’re trying to work at different things, for example, if the first half your opponent might play a specific way, so in the second half you try to counter-act that.”
