Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Thiago Alcantara on a four-year deal from Bayern Munich.
The Reds opened talks with the German champions on Monday and discussions quickly accelerated across the week after a fee of £20million was agreed between the two European giants.
Liverpool will also pay a further £5m in add-ons to land the Spain international for what is viewed inside Anfield as a relatively modest fee for a two-time Champions League winner at the peak of his powers.
Bayern had been keen to earn a fee for a player inside the final 12 months of his contract at the Allianz after he made it clear earlier this year he wanted a fresh challenge.
And the deal will be seen as a good one in Bavaria too, given Thiago joined from Barcelona seven years ago for around £22m.
The Bundesliga champions were keen to seek a resolution to the saga before they kicked off their 2020/21 campaign on Friday at home to Schalke.
And Liverpool wrapped negotiations quickly after finally ending months of speculation by opening talks at the start of the week.

Thiago will wear No.6 at Anfield this season but is not in line to make his debut away at Chelsea on Sunday.
Next Thursday's visit to Lincoln in the Carabao Cup is a possibility, but the visit from Arsenal on September 28 is likely to be a more realistic prospect.
The deal is Liverpool's second of the summer following the £11.75m arrival of Kostas Tsimikas last month.
