A 27-year fight for truth by the families of the 96 people killed at the Hillsborough football stadium has been vindicated after new inquests into the disaster determined that they had been unlawfully killed.

With a special commemoration planned at St George’s Hall on Wednesday evening those moved by the tragedy have been leaving tributes in memory of the lives lost during the FA Cup semi-final on 15 April 1989.

United in grief in nearly 30 years ago we’d like to hear how people in Liverpool feel now. What’s the current mood in the city? What does the verdict mean for you? We’ll use some of your contributions in our ongoing reporting.

You can share your views and tributes by clicking on the blue ‘Contribute’ button on this article. You can also use the Guardian app and search for ‘GuardianWitness assignments’. Alternatively you can fill in our form below.
