Liverpool set to bask in warm weather this Bank Holiday weekend

Liverpool is set to bask in warm weather this weekend as temperatures are forecast to soar to 20 degrees.

After weeks of torrential rain in parts, the sunshine is set to return to Merseyside, just in time for the Bank Holiday.

The Met Office has predicted this coming weekend to be much drier with warm temperatures and clear skies.

After weeks of downpours and below-average temperatures the warm weather will no doubt come as a welcome relief with a brighter end to the month.

Next month, temperatures are expected to increase further as high pressure moves in.

This comes amid a particularly wet spring for the UK as a whole.

Oli Claydon, from the Met Office, said: “Showers will start to ease and temperatures will increase over the bank holiday.

“Other parts of the South East, Wales and the North West are predicted to see top temperatures of around 20C.

“There is a slow progression towards warmer and drier conditions.”

The forecast on the Met Office website says: “Mostly cloudy on Friday. Sunny spells through Saturday. Dry with lengthy sunny spells on Sunday. Temperatures feeling warm.

“High pressure will initially be dominant over the UK, with many areas experiencing warm, dry and sunny weather on Sunday and Monday.”

The warm weather will be welcomed by many Brits as lockdown restrictions continue to ease with the most recent change coming on May 17.

Up to 6 people or 2 households will be able to meet indoors and up to 30 people outdoors.

All remaining outdoor entertainment can reopen, such as outdoor cinemas and performances. Some larger events will be able to take place, including conferences, theatre and concert performances, and sports events.
