Liverpool set for Mason Mount 'bid' after Chelsea exit claim

Liverpool got back to winning ways with their 4-0 over Arsenal this weekend, as Jurgen Klopp’s side reapplied pressure on their title rivals.

However, the German coach only had limited midfield options to choose from given the Reds current injury list, while there was also concern for Diogo Jota during the match.

That Jota’s replacement Takumi Minamino instantly got among the goals would have been a huge boost to Klopp , but does highlight the areas that Liverpool may look to strengthen.

With just under six weeks until the January transfer window opens, here’s a roundup of the latest Liverpool rumours.

Who?

Mason Mount

Where?

Daily Star

What?

It has been claimed that the Chelsea midfielder feels “isn’t feeling appreciated” at his boyhood club.

The England international has been with Chelsea since he was six-years-old and began talks over a new deal at Stamford Bridge in September.

However, the Daily Star reports that Mount feels he is under-appreciated compared to the club’s big-money signings, with Liverpool mentioned as a possible destination.

The Daily star quoted a source close to Mount, who said: “He is torn because he loves the club and the fans, but thinks it’s time for him to leave to step up his career. And where better to do that than Liverpool?”

Who?

Jeremy Doku

Where?

The Hard Tackle , vía Fichajes

What?

The Belgian winger has been a name consistently linked with a move to Anfield.

It is well-known that Liverpool once tried to sign Doku while he was still at Anderlecht, but the now-19-year-old opted to move to French club Rennes.

The links to Liverpool haven’t gone away, though, with Spanish outlet Fichajes suggesting that the Reds face increased competition for the forward.

The report states that Bayern Munich have now entered the race to sign Doku - while Barcelona are also claimed to be interested but are unlikely to have the funds available to finance the move.

Who?

Arnaut Danjuma

Where?

The Mirror , via The Here We Go Podcast

What?

Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma has been mentioned as a potential option to provide competition to Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino.

The Dutch international moved to La Liga from Bournemouth this summer, but the report states that the 24-year-old could be part of a “long-term” recruitment plan by the club’s hierarchy.

The winger has been in impressive form for Unai Emery’s side so far this season, scoring seven and assisting two across 15 games - prompting interest from “top tier” clubs, with Liverpool said to be among them.

This claim stems from Fabrizio Romano’s Here We Go Podcast, where the Mirror cite that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was said to be a “keen admirer” of Danjuma.
