Liverpool set for Man City transfer battle as Raphinha named 'favourite' to join Reds

Liverpool may have been out of action this week but it has not stopped several players being linked with a move to Anfield.

The Reds were handed a brief injury scare when Sadio Mane was taken off as a precaution for Senegal on Thursday.

With several others in the squad already on the sidelines, here’s a roundup of the latest names rumoured to be bolstering Liverpool ’s ranks.

Wolves do have an option to buy Hwang for around £13m, according to reports, at the end of his loan spell.

However, The Mirror claims that the club could look to make his move permanent in January, in an attempt to fend off Liverpool and City from complicating any future deal in the summer.

Monaco midfielder Tchouameni is rumoured to be wanted by several of Europe’s elite clubs, with Liverpool listed among them.

The 21-year-old has been a virtual ever-present in Ligue 1 this season and made his debut for France in September.

The Express suggests, via Italian outlet TuttoJuve, that Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester United all wish to sign Tchouameni, who would cost in the region of £42m.

However, Chelsea are said to be in “pole position” for the midfielder as they look for an alternative to under-performing Atletico Madrid loanee Saul Niguez.

The Mirror .

The Leeds United forward is a player who has been consistently rumoured to be joining the Reds.

Raphinha has scored five in 10 league games for the Yorkshire club this term, having also found the net twice for Brazil across his first three caps.

His agent and ex-Barcelona midfielder Deco has previously said that Liverpool were among the clubs interested in the client during the summer - and it has been reported that the Reds could make a move for the winger.

The Mirror claims that Raphinha is “favourite” to be a parting gift from sporting director Michael Edwards, following the news that he will be stepping down at the end of the season.
