Liverpool sent perfect transfer message over 'frightening' Barcelona talent Pedri

Barcelona wonderkid Pedri has been linked with a potential move to Liverpool and former Premier League star Ian Wright reckons the teenage sensation's talent is “frightening.”

The 18-year-old has started all five of Spain’s games so far at this summer’s European Championships en route to tonight’s semi-final showdown with Italy at Wembley.

Liverpool are reportedly ready to pounce if contract talks between the midfielder and the now cash-strapped Catalan giants break down.

HITC quotes Wright as telling his Wrighty's House Podcast that he’s been watching a lot of footage of Pedri in preparation for his punditry, and he’s been blown away by what he’s seen.

He said: “Before I do it I watch them over and over and over and see what more I can see from it.

“It’s very hard to make people understand how difficult what he’s doing is and how easy he’s making it look at his age. It’s quite frightening with somebody at this age, because he’s just so good.”

Back in April, the Mirror claimed Barca had moved to try and stave off Jurgen Klopp’s side’s interest in the player by offering him a new deal.

Pedri still has another year to run with the option of a further two years and it contains a release clause of around £70million.

The article stated under the new terms on offer, he would get a four-year deal with a release clause closer to an eye-watering — and prohibitive — £350million.
