Liverpool scouts 'blown away' by Bristol City star also linked with Arsenal and Manchester United

Liverpool have reportedly identified Lloyd Kelly as the perfect replacement for Alberto Moreno.

Football Insider have claimed that Reds scouts have been 'blown away' with the Bristol City defender after watching him closely this season.

Liverpool were linked with a move for the 20-year-old prior to the January transfer window, yet nothing transpired as the versatile defender stayed with the Robins.

However, with 32 appearances under his belt so far this season, there looks set to be more interest in Kelly come the summer.

Liverpool will likely be in the market for a new defender in the summer, with Moreno's contract set to expire and doubts over the future of Nathaniel Clyne, who is currently on loan at Bournemouth.

Kelly would fit the mould for the Reds, with Joe Gomez - a player they signed from Charlton Athletic as an 18-year-old - a similar sort of player to the Robins defender.

However, should they opt to make a move for Kelly, they could well face competition.

Both Arsenal and Manchester United have also been linked with interest in Kelly, who has impressed on international duty for England under-21s so far this season, too.
