Liverpool Santa Dash 2021: timings and route

Liverpool’s Santa Dash 2021 takes place today as runners prepare to take to the city’s streets dressed as Father Christmas in red and blue Santa suits.

The 5K fun run was virtual last year due to the pandemic. It is the biggest and longest established Santa Run in the UK, now in its 18th year.

This year’s run is known as Appreciate Group Liverpool Santa Dash as the company becomes the events partner, while Alder Hey Children’s Charity is the official charity partner.

Arriva North West is supporting the Liverpool Santa Dash for the fourth time by offering participants free travel on the Arriva bus network across Merseyside throughout Santa Dash day.

To claim complimentary bus travel to or from the city centre, Santas must be wearing their Santa suit and race number in the morning, or their Santa suit and medal when travelling home afterwards.

Here’s everything you need to know about Liverpool Santa Dash 2021.

When

Liverpool Santa Dash takes place on Sunday, December 5 with the race starting at 9.30am.

Route

The race will start at Liverpool’s Pier Head in front of the famous Liver Building.

The 5K route then flows through the city centre passing through the Royal Albert Dock and back along the main waterfront roads.

The runners will then turn into the tightly packed streets to finish in front of the Town Hall where they’ll be greeted with giant Christmas characters and a flurry of snow on the finish line.

At the end of the 5K run you will need to hand in the wristband you were given when you collected your Santa suit in return for your medal.
