Liverpool's Xherdan Shaqiri receives special Champions League winners welcome gift while holidaying in Greece

Liverpool winger Xherdan Shaqiri has received a special Champions League welcome gift while holidaying in Mykonos.

Upon arrival at his hotel on the stunning Greek island the 27-year-old was given a commemorative plaque to honour his European success with the Reds.

Shaqiri shared a picture of the gift to Instagram with the caption: "Thank you for this warm welcome."

The glass present has the words 'Welcome to Mykonos Champ Xherdan Shaqiri YNWA' inscribed along with a Champions League trophy.

The Swiss international was an unused substitute in the Madrid final but more than played his part during Liverpool's sensational comeback against Barcelona.

The former Basel playmaker provided a pinpoint cross for Gini Wijnaldum who headed home at the Kop end on one of Anfield's most famous nights.

Shaqiri also won the Champions League with Bayern Munich in 2013.
