Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold undecided over Manchester United great in dream five-a-side team

Trent Alexander-Arnold has named his dream five-a-side team based on a key caveat and included two Liverpool legends.

The right-back was recently forced to pull out of England's Euro 2020 squad due to injury suffered in an international friendly against Austria but has been working with Red Bull to enhance his vision and ability to spot a pass.

A documentary called Trent’s Vison has also been produced, which you can watch here.

Alexander-Arnold has already proved to be able to pick out a crucial pass having contributed to his side's Champions League and Premier League title wins and he is aiming to come back stronger than ever once recovered.

As part of the partnership, Trent was asked to pick out his dream five-a-side team based on vision.

Admitting it was a tough task, the 22-year-old named Anfield icons Steven Gerrard and Xabi Alonso in his team but struggled when it came to deciding between a current Man City star or an Old Trafford legend.

He said: "Ah that’s tough … well me, especially after this project! And then I’d say Gerrard, Alonso, Messi, De Bruyne. Actually, it’s between De Bruyne or Beckham! I need a six-man team!

"I think what made Steven Gerrard so good was decisiveness, if that makes sense. He never did anything just for the sake of it. He did it with a purpose and did it with intensity. So, I would say decisiveness."

Alexander-Arnold faces a road to recovery this summer and a race to be fit for Liverpool's pre-season preparations after pulling up in the last minutes of England's friendly win at the Riverside Stadium, and was in visible discomfort when limping down the tunnel.

And a scan on Thursday has confirmed he suffered a grade two quad tear and is now set for a period of four to six weeks on the side-lines.

Gareth Southgate will now name a replacement but will delay the decision until after Sunday’s warm-up fixture against Romania, with Jesse Lingard, James Ward-Prowse, Ollie Watkins, Aaron Ramsdale, Ben Godfrey and Ben White the players vying to step up, having initially been named in England's provisional 33-man squad.
