Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold sends Barcelona strong four-word message after Porto win

Trent Alexander-Arnold sent Barcelona a strong message after Liverpool beat Porto 4-1 in their Champions League quarter final-final clash.

The Reds produced an Liverpool analysis - Jurgen Klopp's rotation policy pays off as team-mates bail out Virgil van Dijk on Wednesday night which saw them progress into the semi-finals of the European competition - winning the tie 6-1 overall.

Jurgen Klopp 's side will now face Barcelona, who knocked out Manchester United 4-0 on aggregate , in the next round.

After the match in Portugal last night Alexander-Arnold took to Twitter and said: “Bring on the semis!”

It is clear the youngster is confident after Liverpool travelled to Portugal with a 2-0 lead from the first leg at Anfield and Mane opened the Reds' account after 26 minutes with a sliding effort that required VAR confirmation to be given.

This was followed up by Mohamed Salah after the break who finished off a sublime counter-attack, before Porto’s defender Eder Militao pulled one back for the home team.

While victory was never in doubt for the Reds at this point, late goals from Roberto Firmino and Virgil van Dijk capped off an impressive performance for Klopp’s men.

After the game the manager revealed how impressed is he with the improvement he has seen in his players this season.

"We played better this season. It was always going to be a whirlwind here and that was what it was," he said.

"In the second half, the energy level dropped for Porto and we could control the game and score the goals.

"We are more experienced, that is clear.

"We had difficult away games and we knew it would be the same as at City and Roma last year. It is all good."
